“I will lift up my eyes to the hills; from where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.”
-Psalm 121:1-2
Thank you so much for the prayers of St. Francis. They are truly an inspiration. -Christine (Hawaii)

(ANSWER TO PRAYER) I wanted to tell you that after I requested prayer last week I felt a change in my mental outlook and a real peace about my circumstances. I feel more optimistic about my future and my faith in God is stronger. I believe God healed me emotionally.

(ANSWER TO PRAYER) Thank you for your kindness and for your prayers, and also for you being a blessing to me during this time. I do not know what might have happened to me if I had not followed that still small voice a few months ago, when it told me to ask for prayer for myself and also prayer for my children.
I have felt the spirit of God in my life the last few months, and I have had things happen in my life that I did not think would happen. The most important event during this time has been that God has placed a number of wonderful people of God in my life.
I praise him for letting me meet you over the Internet and if it is not meant for us to ever meet in this world, then I am assured that I will meet you when we all go home to be with our Father. I know without a doubt that our Father is going to bless you because of the work that you’re doing for Him. Love In Jesus’ Name, -Margie.

Thank you for your response. It gives me hope in our situation to know that others care and are praying. I too will lift you and your prayer warriors up in prayer. Such a wonderful organization you have. We are private people and don’t share much with others but opened up due to crisis, and are so grateful for your support. -Joyce _____________________________________________________________
Your ministry has helped me so much. I am glad to be a part of it by supporting you with my prayers and by sending you a donation every month, even though it is not very large. -L.M. (Oregon) ____________________________________________________________
(ANSWER TO PRAYER) I want to thank you for this Site. I was led to you by inspiration while in a state of total despair, your prayers are having an affect and I am so grateful. I have made a strong promise to God and want to fulfill it. In addition I pray every day in the morning for all prayer requests you have received. I am not very good at it yet, but I think God gets the point. God bless all of you, and I want to thank you for what you do.
Your Brother in Christ, –Doug

(ANSWER TO PRAYER) Pamela passed away yesterday and it was a beautiful passing. I thank you, for all of your prayers. My family is talking about the “peace” they are experiencing and the years of bitterness towards different family members being lifted. God is truly merciful and can intervene and bring out the best in any situation. Your prayers have truly made a difference. I will stand in the gap and pray for those of you at the PrayerFoundation. Blessings, -Gina _____________________________________________________________

I was looking for a place to submit a prayer request for some family and friends and came across your site. I have found it to be a blessing. I would like to be considered to be a prayer warrior with you. I love praying for people as well as with them. I love praying. I look forward to the new things that you are starting — looks like more blessing to me. I thank God for using you to touch many lives, with prayers and smiles. -Sister Ira _____________________________________________________________
It is wonderful to hear that your organization has been formed. When we created our organization, we had extremely high standards of trying to present information the way we think Jesus might have, and we do the best we can to maintain that standard. I suspect your standards are equally high. The Lord be with you in all your ministry efforts, –Pastor Carl

I have found that being involved with your website and work is very spiritually rewarding. I have tried to make my appointed prayer time but even when missed, have made it up at another time. While praying for others’ needs I find so much similarity between all of us. In praying for others I have found faith and strength to meet my own challenges. And knowing that there are people praying for me across this country is also very comforting. I pray that God continues to bless your work and that it spreads across the rest of the world.
Yours with you in prayer, –Crandall ________________________________________________________

Dear brother Preston, Thank you so much for your reply. I’ve never heard of one, but why not a Protestant monastery? I’m sure there are many Protestant believers who would like to completely dedicate their lives to prayer and reflection. Enjoyed your website. A very unique ministry. May the Lord bless it.
Actually, there have been Protestant monasteries (Anglican) for over 150 years. We have also heard of Lutheran monasteries in Denmark and Michigan. Taize, in France, was founded as an independent, non-denominational Protestant monastery shortly after World War II. Where our Ministry is unique, is not in being Protestant, but in being the very first Evangelical Christian monastery on the Internet (1999), and the only one for the next four years.

Thanks so much for the info. on how to become a Lay Monk. For about four years, I have been living…to get closer to God, and have felt strongly in my heart that I wanted to live as a Lay Monk. It is wonderful that you are offering the opportunity to legitimize this in some way, and that I can belong to a group of like-minded people. I’m going to send in my donation to help support the ministry today, and look forward to receiving the Lay Monastic Registration Certificate and Card. Thanks again, and God bless you, -Christine (Hawaii) ______________________________________________________________
I am a Swedish woman, 33 years old, who has been a monk in my heart for many years! I would love to become a Lay Monk now!

God bless you all, and please pass on my thanks to all these dear people who willingly give of their time to remember to pray for my nephew Steve. This is all so overwhelming for us, we hardly know if we are coming or going anymore. Knowing you are out there praying helps give us strength. -Teddi

Thank you for your prayers and response and letter. I am a Catholic and was surprised to see a Protestant monastery, but it seems great. I want you to know your prayers are appreciated. I am really struggling…and seeking God’s clear guidance and am continuing to pray more. Thank you. -Samuel S. ______________________________________________________________
I am saved, I still struggle with depression, overeating, and double-mindedness in my life. However, I am committed to follow and serve Jesus and to have faith that I will be delivered. I write poetry and songs for overcoming depression so that I can express where I’ve been and where I want to go in Christ. In Ezekiel 36, The Lord talks about restoring desolate lands that are in waste. I will continue to pray for the PrayerFoundation and stand in the gap for the prayer requests of others. Thank you & May God Bless you Abundantly. Love in Christ, -Gina R. (Michigan) ______________________________________________________________
(ANSWER TO PRAYER): Dear Lay Monk Preston, I can’t believe that you remembered me and my prayer request from months ago!! That really touches my heart just to know that someone I haven’t even met could still remember me. Thank you. And I also want to thank you for praying for my marriage this time. I don’t want to seem like I’m taking advantage, you know, continuously asking for prayer requests. This request is very serious to me, as well as the request I had for my Dad. And I would definitely love to become prayer warrior with this organization. I would be more than happy to pray for others. Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you. Love always, -Caroline S. xoxox
Caroline had sent us a prayer request; she was worried about losing her Dad. He was having heart surgery in a few days, and the prognosis wasn’t good. When he went in for the surgery a few days later, the Doctors were very surprised to find that he no longer needed the surgery! We have seen miracles like this occur over and over. Many times we receive the prayer requests of people who have suffered from chronic health problems for years and receive their emails that they have been completely healed on the same day or only one to three days later! This is because the Bible is truth, (John 17:17) and because: “Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, and today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8). Lay Monk Preston has published the story of Caroline’s Dad, along with hundreds of other inspiring stories like his, in the book, Answers to Prayer. It is compiled from twenty years of this ministry’s Prayerchain, with its thousands of Christians throughout the world praying for those who request it. ______________________________________________________________
Dear Brothers & Sisters of the PrayerFoundation, I would like to enlist in the group of your prayer ring. I have seen so much pain in this world, and we all need the help of others to be able to cope with the many tribulations that sometimes come our way. We need the help of others and also our obligation is to console the needy, and the lonely of heart and soul. There are at this time countless people frightened; scared of the unknown enemy. But with the help of each other, and Faith in the Help of God, we must prevail as children of the Highest. -R.M. (Nevada) ______________________________________________________________
(ANSWER TO PRAYER): Dear Lay Monk Preston, I will be in prayer for you, and for your ministry. I am devoted to prayer, and have seen the hand of God move mightily in my life. I have also walked through fire that has deepened my need and my love for God. God is faithful, loving and true, but we do have an Enemy. I have a wonderful answer to prayer, too. My daughter called and she and her husband are going to church this weekend. Erik is humbled by his mistakes, and is now open to letting the love of Jesus come in…and my Jen is ecstatic.
She and I were separated for 9 years through a tragic and hurtful experience, but now are reconciled and so happy…and I would love to be a part of your support team.
God bless you and thank you so much. -Lynn (Washington State) ______________________________________________________________
Thank you for your kind and quick response to my prayer request. I will remember you in my prayers as I lift up concerns to the throne. It’s a comfort knowing that you are praying, thank you again so very much. -Joyce

Hooray for Lay Monk Bob! What a courageous man of God. Thanks for profiling him. -Lay Monk Christine
My name is Philip and I registered with you back about ’02 or ’03. I experienced the traumatic death of my wife in a car accident. I felt my life was over, and it took me many years to come back from it. At that time I lived in Southern California.
I had been a concert and church organist my entire life and found a short-term job playing at a church down in Australia for awhile. It also helped that I had several degrees including an MA in Theology.
After several years God led me to me meet a woman that was a widow and after about a year we were married. She was also very religious and she had been working as a ‘Grief Support Facilitator” for Hospitals. She got me involved in Hospice working with her in Grief Support and Group Facilitation of Grief Support Groups.
We became involved with an “ecumenical” Franciscan order and started our training, but quickly became disillusioned because of that orders extremely involved association with the “gay rights” movement! It soon became apparent that we were not a very good match for that order and we parted ways.
We never gave up though! We continued our prayers and we always prayed the hours. In fact, we have our own format built around your “Daily Prayer Office”… We have a small 5 acre farm that we call home. We call the place “Casa de San Francisco” or ‘House of St.Francis”.
We have a dedicated chapel with several church pews and a small but fine reference library with over 1000 books and research volumes for Christian and comparative religious studies. We also have numerous computer workstations available.
Well, I think I’ve taken up enough of your time for now. I do hope to hear from you. I have always loved your group since your first started and thought your idea was great. By the way, Nancy is about 90% Irish and 6% Welsh, Scottish and English. I’m about 50% Welsh, 40% Irish & Scottish, and 5% English. So I think we’re of mostly Celtic origin!
Have a very blessed day and may the peace of God be with you and all of your group! Pax Et Bonum!
Rev. (Br.) Philip E. Evans, C.J (Oklahoma)
I like the new design of your new website, it’s unique and modern.
Your cats are adorable and your words are wise. I hope you all are safe and taking care of each other, in these pandemic and hard times of today, in today’s world. May God bless you both, and all else; and may He keep you all safe and healthly.
Lay Monk Miki S. (Macedonia, in the Balkans)
Hello, my name is Anne, and I am emailing from New Zealand! I am interested in your website – particularly the information about Celtic Christianity and especially the article on Celtic Advent.
Thank You, Anne S. (New Zealand)
I enjoy going through your website and reading the various articles. I also enjoy your photos which you posted. I like the Monk’s Habit that you use… Steve
Thanks for the response and prayer. May we labor with the whole of our beings and see you at the feet of the Master. Regards, E.L. (Nigeria)
Dear Lay Monk Preston and Lay Monk Linda, I enjoyed reading your books on Kindle. Lay Monk Linda would love my neighborhood because we have a lot of cats. Love being a monk! Sister Marie (Colorado)
Dear Br. S.G. & Linda, Have mailed off my application for my 2nd year as a Lay Monk in the Order of the Knights of Prayer. (Hangs head) yes I know it’s a month late, had to wait for my Social Security to come in. This past 1st year has been amazing as you meet so many people when you’re in a green habit which makes the opportunity to spread the “Good News” even easier. Have even been stopped by several Catholic Clergy and asked what Order I belong to. A brother in Christ, Timothy C. (Georgia, U.S.A.) (Note: Brother Timothy is a “Reenactor” at Renaissance Faires.)
Dear Lay Monk Preston, Shalom and greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It has been a joy to have heard from you. We have not been in touch for a long time. I would like to renew my membership with The Prayer Foundation (Knights of Prayer). Regards, Justin M. (Victoria, Australia)
I pray the full love of Jesus Christ fills your heart, spirit and mind. I pray your emotions and feelings are filled with Jesus Christ and the joy and knowledge of our fathers love. I pray blessings in prosperity and success in your challenges. May you know you are a gift and in Christ we are worthy. Amen, Benjamin (Australia)
Brother, I am in the process of making two Power Point Presentations (Churches in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, and an Anglican Liturgical Calendar of Saints) which may be circulated online. I did come across your website this morning which I found quite interesting. Thank you very much. I need to use a quote or more. May I have permission to use this material in my Presentations ? Thank you so much. -Father William Noel (Canada)
