“Come to me,
all you that are weary from carrying heavy loads,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;
for I am gentle and humble in spirit;
and you shall find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
-Matthew 11:28-30

How to Receive Christ — a Sample Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
I thank you for dying on the Cross and shedding your precious blood for my sins.
I am sorry for all of my sins. I repent, and turn from my sins, to You.
I ask you to come into my heart and forgive all of my sins; I receive you as my Lord and my Savior.
Heavenly Father, I thank you now for forgiving all of my sins and giving me eternal life in Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
In Jesus’ Name I pray.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
1. Admit you are a sinner (have disobeyed God).
Our sins have separated us from God. Imperfect humanity cannot enter into the presence of a perfect God.
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” -1 John 1:8
2. Repent – be sorry for your sins, and turn from them – to a new life in Christ.
“Repent, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” -Acts 3:1
3. Salvation is available only through Jesus Christ.
“Jesus said to him: ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, but by me.” -John 14:6
How to Receive Christ ______________________________
When we decided to include the “Romans Road” of Scripture on our website, we learned that apparently there are many different versions of what these Scriptures are!
_____________________________
This is because in regard to the book of Romans, the popular saying fits: “It’s all good!”
Martin Luther felt that All Christians should memorize the entire Book of Romans!

“We have learned the plan of our Salvation from no one else other than from those through whom the Gospel has come down to us.
For they did at one time proclaim the Gospel in public.
And at a later period, by the will of God, they handed the Gospel down to us in the Scriptures —
to be the ‘ground and pillar of our faith.'”
-Bishop Irenaeus of Lyons (Writing c. 175-185 A.D.)

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and humanity, the man Christ Jesus.” -1 Timothy 2:5
“Neither is there Salvation in any other: for there is no other Name under heaven, given to humanity, by which we must be saved.” –Acts 4:12
4. Accept the Free gift of eternal Life through Christ.
‘
You cannot earn Salvation by your own efforts.
“For by Grace are you saved (through faith). It is the Gift God: Not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
-Ephesians 2:8-9
Lay Monk Preston created his own version of the Romans Road of Scripture, using many of the generally accepted Scriptures.
But placing them in the order they are found in the Bible.
And keeping the number of verses at seven, the Biblical number of “completeness.”
(Different versions list differing numbers of Scriptures.)
5. Do it now.
“…behold: now is the acceptable time, now is the day of Salvation.”
-2 Corinthians 6:2

I. Romans 3:10
“As it is written, there are none righteous, no, not one.”

“O Master Carpenter,
who at the last through wood and nails,
did purchase man’s whole salvation:
wield well Thy tools in this Thy workshop,
so that we who come to Thee rough-hewn,
may by Thy grace, be fashioned
into a nobler beauty. Amen.”

IV. Romans 5:12
“By one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death fell upon all men, because all have sinned.”

VI. Romans 10:9-10

I have accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, this date.
…I accepted Christ as My Savior while visiting the PrayerFoundation website.
Merle (Florida)
I want to accept Jesus. I see that picture of Jesus knocking at the door of my heart and it makes me cry. I just cannot take the next step of acceptance.
I don’t know why I cannot open the door. Pray for me.
Margaret (Cincinnati, Ohio)
I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior on your site and it continues to be an inspiration to me.
In addition I tell anyone who will listen about your good works. My attraction to your site was the simple beauty and clarity of the message, and it continues to be the same today.
Your Brother in Christ,
Doug (Colorado)
I am truly glad to have found your website. I have a great desire to follow Jesus Christ. Today I have accepted Him in my heart and asked forgiveness of my sins.
Now, today, I feel the strength to give my life and my heart to Christ. Thank you for inspiring me (to be saved).
I am a small farmer, with a wife, and wonderful son and daughter. I live in rural Northeast Thailand. There are no Christians here (I know, hard to believe). I guess I could try to be the first.
I have been here for 5 years now, and life is very different than Vermont, U.S.A. I will try to seek out fellowship in the big city of Bangkok. I go there every once in a while, but it is a 6 hour drive away. I do feel like a monk in my heart (one with lots of solitude).
I will continue with God’s help to grow in Christ. I believe I am here in the boonies for a purpose.
I pray that my wife will come to accept Jesus Christ, (I guess this could be a prayer request!), and that I may be a strong example for my children.
I pray I can be strong in faith as I am surrounded by those that worship spirits (life in the village is quite medieval in flavor). Thank you again.
Your brother in Christ,
David (Thailand)
“I am Christian and of course what I write will be from that essential viewpoint.”
“If you do not believe in a personal God, the question: ‘What is the purpose of life?’ is unaskable and unanswerable.”
“Life’s purpose is to know, praise, and thank God.”
-J.R.R. Tolkien
“…the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
-1 John 1:7
“I tell you the truth: whoever hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life and will not be condemned;
they have crossed over from death to life.”
-John 5:24
