“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.

And as many as walk according to this Rule, peace be upon them, and mercy; yes, upon the Israel of God.”

“I  pray our  Celtic Cross Rule as a prayer at least once a week; at times, once each day.

Two other portions of Scripture that it is based on, that I pray often are:

The Jesus Shema (The Greatest Commandment), and The Fruit of the Spirit.

Each of them contain what I consider to be Basic Essential Scripture verses.”

-Lay Monk Preston

The Jesus Shema (“Hear”)

The Greatest Commandment

And Jesus answered, ‘The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one:

and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength:

this is the first commandment.

And the second is like it, namely this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

There is no other commandment greater than these.'”

-Mark 12:29-31; Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Leviticus 19:18

 The Fruit of the Spirit

“The Fruit of the Spirit is                                           love, joy, peace,                                 patience, kindness, goodness,     faithfulness, humility, self-control.

Since we live in the Spirit,                 let us also walk in the Spirit.”

    -Galatians 5:22-23,25

AntHONy Of EGyPt (QuOtES):

“”The truly intelligent man pursues one sole objective: to obey and conform to the God of all.”

“In the time of St. Anthony, a wise man came to him saying, “How can you be steadfast in this wilderness without any books to nurture you?”

He answered saying, “O wise man, my books are the lives of those who came before me, and when I want to read, I read the word of God.”

“I saw the snares that the Enemy spreads out over the world and I said, groaning,

‘What can get through such snares?’

Then I heard a voice saying to me:

Humility.’”
